QuikTrip Park in Grand Prairie, TX is the host for the 2013 WAC Baseball Tournament! To generate some fan support for distant teams, Parks and Recreation has developed an adopt-a-team program. Groups, organizations, individuals and businesses can adopt a team to support throughout the tournament. To adopt a team or for more information, contact Beverly Grogan at 972-237-8100.
Tickets are $10 for a day pass or $35 for a tournament pass and can be purchased by calling 972-504-9383

Let the good times roll with a crawfish boil at Farmers Market Saturday, June 1. Hundreds of pounds of tasty authentic crawfish will be sold by the pound and accompanied with potatoes and corn. Farmers Market, located at 120 W. Main St. in downtown Grand Prairie, will be open extended hours for the boil, opening at 8 a.m. and closing at 3 p.m. or until supplies run out. Market usually closes at 1 p.m. |

Walnut Creek Paddling Trail Now Open!
This May, The City of Grand Prairie Parks & Recreation Department and the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department opened the Walnut Creek Paddling Trail. The marked trail is a 5 mile loop which winds though Loyd Park on Joe Pool Lake and features a variety of native plants and wildlife. Don’t have the right equipment? Don’t worry – Canoes, kayaks, paddles and life vests will be available for rent at the park.

Disc Golf Mini-Tournaments at Turner Park
A brand new 18-hole disc golf course is opwn at Turner Park. The Lone Star Lasers disc golf association is hosting “Mini-Tournaments” there for all ages and skill levels each Saturday morning, with a start time of 10 a.m. Come enjoy one of the fastest growing and most fun sports in the country! Please arrive at main pavilion no later than 9:45 a.m. to sign up.
