Lynn Creek Park is now open for the season! Hours of operation are 6am - 10pm. Single vehicle admission is free for Grand Prairie residents excluding select holidays and special events.

Easter Eggstravaganza
Sat, April 4 • 10am •  Lynn Creek Park • 5610 Lake Ridge Pkwy.
Children 10 and under will hunt for thousands of eggs and prizes. Kids will be divided into three age groups (5 years & under, 6-8 years, 9-10 years) in three different hunts. The Easter Bunny, Easter arts and crafts, bounce houses and other entertainment will be featured. Event admission is FREE with proof of city residency or $10 per carload.

Easter Egg Swim
Sat, April 4 • 1-3pm •  Kirby Creek Natatorium • 3201 Corn Valley Rd.
Bring the kids for an easter egg extravaganza on Saturday, April 4, 1-3 p.m. at Kirby Creek Natatorium, 3201 Corn Valley Rd. Enjoy an easter egg hunt in the heated indoor pool, face painting and a bounce house. Cost is $3 per person (children younger than 2 are free). Parents may swim with their children. Get Fit GP Run For Shelter 5K Run/Walk
Sat, April 25 • First United Methodist Church • 121 N. Center
This year's event is the merging of two downtown runs: Run For Shelter 5K and the Get Fit GP 5K. Proceeds from the run will benefit LifeLine Shelter and Get Fit GP health initiatives. The event will be the kcik-off to Saturday's downtown festivities for Farmers Market and Main Street Fest. Get in your run/walk and then enjoy a myriad of activities in downtown Grand Prairie. Get Fit GP Run For Shelter will kick off at 8 a.m. with kids and adults running with Grand Prairie Police Chief Steve Dye and Fire Chief Robert Fite during the "Chase the Chiefs" 1-mile Fun Run. The 5K will start at 8:30 a.m. with Get Fit Health/spnosor booths, music and awards after the run.

Main Street Fest

The City of Grand Prairie Parks, Arts and Recreation Department is hosting the 4th Annual Main Street Fest. This free community event is scheduled for April 24-25th on the 200 block of W. Main Street and surrounding areas.Along with our selected performers, the festival will celebrate the fun, festive, family atmosphere of Grand Prairie with LIVE! music featuring Grammy Award Winning Artists Max Baca & The Los TexManiacs with Rick Trevino, Augie Meyers, Flaco Jimenez and Joe Ely, Texas Country Singer-Songwriter Jerry Jeff Walker, the Tejas Brothers, Matt Kimbrow Band and so much more! While at the festival enjoy spectacular BMX/Skate Street Shows, Novelty Entertainment, Carnival Rides, an Arts & Crafts Area, Business Expo, Food and Beer Gardens, a KIDZONE and plenty of fun for all!

Flight of the Monarch Sponsorship Opportunities
The City of Grand Prairie Parks, Arts and Recreation Department is hosting the 3rd Annual Flight of the Monarch Celebration, scheduled for September 19, 2015 at Central Park Boardwalk and surrounding areas. Last year’s Flight of the Monarch Celebration, attracted over 8000 visitors. With great weather and the success from last year, the 2015 celebration is projected to bring an even larger attendance this year. With remote parking to the event and shuttle service dropping off at the entrance will make traveling to the celebration and leaving after the celebration much easier and quicker for all.

The EPIC Project
With an approval rate of 75%, Grand Prairie citizens voted to begin “The Epic” project. This legacy development will bring numerous additions to Central Park, including:  Major Recreation/Life Changing Center, indoor water park, amphitheater, library, trails, all-inclusive playground, and lake based recreation amenities.

Visit for more information and regular updates, but more importantly, to share how YOU and YOUR family can leave a footprint on this project, through your wants, desires and vision! This project is for every citizen, and we will begin having community “Envision the Epic Encounters” where you can provide input. In addition, we will have opportunities for you to submit suggestions on-line.

The Walnut Creek Paddling Trali at Joe Pool Lake, brought to you by The City of Grand Prairie Parks & Recreation Department and the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department, is a 4.9-mile marked trail that winds though Loyd Park on Joe Pool Lake. Disc Golf Mini-Tournaments at Turner Park
A brand new 18-hole disc golf course is opwn at Turner Park. The Lone Star Lasers disc golf association is hosting “Mini-Tournaments” there for all ages and skill levels each Saturday morning, with a start time of 10 a.m. Come enjoy one of the fastest growing and most fun sports in the country!
